Firstly, the web address sleepydad.co.uk will not last 5 years I imagin, so that image will not show. Will I maintain my LJ? Will I maintain my website?

The digital copy is completely subject to the life of the storage devise it inhabits, and the number of copies. I think most harddrives are not garanteed to last more than 5-6 years.

I have to maintain my own data, and back up sensibly. That requires hard copies that are organised and kept safely. I've lost stuff I did at less than 3 years ago. I lose interest in the data, it gets put in some folder and the hardrive explodes. Goodbye data.

Electrical devices are a temporary method of storage. They become outdated and unreadable fast.

10 years is being very pessimistic, but the life of data is short compaired with paper. Anyway, the work will be outdated and irrelivent by then for sure.
